Let me take you back to a cramped, stuffy, smoke filled college dorm room. Five students laying on a bed passing some funky cigarettes, staring at a ceiling littered with print outs of "cool stuff". I really wish we had a professional origin story but I'd be lying if I told you different, we are who we are, we were who we were and that isn't changing. We had an idea, a creative passion and a desire to share it with anyone who thought like us.

While our definition of that idea has changed with us from "Lads! Let's make our own own posters!" to "Gentlemen, let's provide a platform for collaborative, perspective shifting artistry". Our belief in what we have built, and continue to build has not. Perspective shifting artistry is a mouthful... Really what we do is find photographs, paintings and digitally created images that capture the beauty in ordinary life. We believe that magnificence lives in the mundane, if you can see the beauty in chipped paint, a stopped clock or the view from your front door, you already belong in our movement.

 

As we matured, we came to the abrupt realisation that we were very small fish in a very big pond. While our ideas and opinions were important to us, they would never be as important to other people. But that's ok. We discovered that our philosophy of finding the beauty in the ordinary applied as much to ourselves as people as it did to the idea we were cultivating. Suddenly our vision for this website changed. It changed from simply being another store to a platform where everyone with a desire to share the beauty of the world around them could come together. We want to showcase your talent, your talent for recognising beauty and your talent for capturing it.

This realisation brought our "featured artists" section into existence. This section is all about you, who you are and what fuels your passion. We want to hear from you, we want to see your world through your eyes and most importantly we want the world to see itself through your eyes.

 

 

Honestly, I wish I knew. Its been such a rollercoaster getting here, and none of us want it to end. We have big plans for the future but plans, as you know, are made to be broken. For now, we're going to continue fuelling our creative passion and shining the spotlight on as many of you amazing collaborators as possible.
